Half Price Computer Books Winter 2005 Scholarship

The sponsoring agency for the Half Price Computer Books Winter 2005 Scholarships awards is Half Price Computer Books and is for those students who wish to further their education.

These scholarships requires the applying candidate to submit a 500 – 750 essay and the topic will be chosen out of three that are have been pre selected and are posted at the Half Price computer books website.

Two $500 awards will be given and one $250 award is available also. There is no restriction on where the student may attend college other than it should be somewhere in the United States or Canada.

There are no restrictions on the fields of study and this scholarship is available to students worldwide. High school students are not eligible. To be eligible for these scholarships the candidate should be at least undergraduate grade level. Proof of college, university or technical school registration is required.

Robert Welch University Scholarship-Essay Contest

The Robert Welch University Scholarship Essay Contest is sponsored by Robert Welch University. This contest will help evaluate the applicant’s critical thinking abilities, writing skills, research skills and Intellect.

There are 10 awards available and the winner of the first place award for his essay will be given free tuition for one semester at the online school, Robert Welch University. Three courses are allowed for each session. Second thru fifth place winners will receive one free course at the university. Winners in sixth thru 10th place will be given a copy of a book addressing the subject of the essay.

The topic of the essay is to be “The Mysterious Abraham Lincoln”. The subject is to be about Abraham Lincoln’s career and politics. Each paper is to be a maximum of 2,500 words, all typed and double-spaced.

All those who make the finalist list will be recognized for their participation along with their school and instructors on the university website. George Washington University Eugene Poncelet and Isabel Poncelet Scholarship

The George Washington University Eugene Poncelet and Isabel Poncelet Scholarships are sponsored by the George Washington University and are available to help students from Belgium.

This scholarship was first funded and established by Eugene and Isabel Poncelet to help students who deserve to go to The George Washington University of Business in the United States. Each applicant is required to have an excellent academic record and this scholarship requires that each applicant to be a citizen of Belgium.

Applicants must be enrolled as full time students or intending to enroll as a full time student. Current students or those who are incoming graduate students with a masters or a doctoral in the School of Business and Public Management are eligible to apply.

The George Washington University, School of Business and Public Management is the host school for this scholarship. The field of study is Business Management, Business Finance and Accounting.

The award amount will pay for full tuition and fees, along with the cost of books for the entire duration of the graduate degree program, which is three years. The number of these awards varies. Submission of application and documentation is February 1st.

Medical Scholarships for College

According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the health field is expected to grow by 27% between now and 2017. At this point in time, especially with such statistics in mind, there is no field which seems as viable as the field of health.

For students of various backgrounds, health will be a very feasible college major, and will reap the rewards when those students enter the free job market. Unfortunately, the college programs which are necessary for health majors are extensively pricey, without the aid of financial scholarship. If only college was free, it would be easy for health students to pursue their careers.

The NIH Undergraduate Scholarship is funded by the National institute of health. This free college scholarship program offers scholarships to health students who originate from disadvantaged backgrounds, but display potential for a medical career.

The scholarship offers $20,000 in annual tuition, accompanied by a paid health fellowship which students must participate in.

Australian Institute Research Grant

Interested in doing research about Australian cultural roots? You have found just the right program for you.

AIATSIS, an organization funding research in Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, is giving away research grants for those of you who are interested in doing research about history, politics, law, linguistics, social anthropology, education, and several other cultural topics especially related to Australian Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders.

You can apply for this program as individual or organization, but you will need to have a strong and relevant administering organization, Australian ones, such as universities or NGOs to support your individual applications.

All of you who study in an Australian university will be able to apply for this research grant. Aside from the given requirements above, you will also need to acquire letter of recommendations from credible support persons or organizations as part of your application documents.

Prior agreements from research subjects (community, tribe, or person being researched) will also be necessary.

If you plan to apply for this program, the admission period will open on 13 October 2008 and close on 12 January 2009. Make sure you acquire the latest submission guide and application forms, since they are changing their requirements and procedures this year.

William Woods University Academic Scholarship

If you have a minimum 31 ACT or 1360 SAT – in Critical Reading and Math only – and minimum of a 3.7+ High School Grade Point Average, then you will surely be eligible for William Woods University Academic Scholarship.

This very nice scholarship will cover 75% of your tuition fees, room and board, making continuing your study at William Woods University as affordable as it can get.

Essay Contest on Ayn Rands Novel Atlas Shrugged

Do you love to write? Are you taking literature as your field of study? The Essay Contest on Ayn Rands Novel Atlas Shrugged is probably the program you are looking for.

Talented writers will have a chance to show their skills and compete for large sum of prizes, cash prizes. Not interesting enough? There is also a $5,000 cash prize for writer with the best essay.

3) An important early event in the novel is the destruction of the Phoenix-Durango. What factors make its destruction possible? How does this issue relate to the meaning and theme of Atlas Shrugged?
Those topics are easy to write about, so give it your best and show those judges what you are capable of writing. This is an opportunity you would not want to miss.
